Spring Fashion Trends

LET'S SPRING

Spring has finally arrived which ovi means it gets warmer and we can put our snow boots away!! Over the past two months i have religiously been watching runways from countless designers, as well as reading all about the upcoming trends for spring of 2018. in saying so, i gathered a ton of information from the fashion weeks of, New York, London, and Milan.

Below are some of my top favorite trends that walked the runway this year during this exciting time:)

SPRING TRENDS 2018:

TULLE

obsessed. i love the look of tulle i think it is such fab material and i'm totally into it. tulle is a type of fabric that is like what a tutu is made out of (for those of you who don't know what it is). this was all over the runway for spring this year and is just way too cute.

bright colors

saturated colors are a statement piece this year. i saw this trend on the runways of Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, and Sachin & Babi. this trend will be verie fun to play around with, do to the fact that neutral colors are such our fall and winter type color scheme.

sheer& transparencies

LOVE ME SOME SHEER. this trend is one of my all-time favorites because it is so sexie and snappie. you can make this trend as scandalous as you want or make a chic outfit out of it. throwing a cute bralette under a sheer shirt is such a look and if done right can look so good. another part going along with sheer this year, is being able to see the undergarments you're wearing under a sheer dress or skirt! This sounds crazie and i'm not quite sure if it will quite make it into our everyday streetwear, but is a verie interesting going out look.

miXeD pRinTs

how fab is this trend. i mean I'm totally obsessed I love the mixed print vibe because it's so different than what we have been used to and it will be so fun to mix up some prints in the warm weather.

AMERICANA

we all love our red, white, and blue. represent America this season. we have seen this trend all over the runway and are now seeing clothing items in stores from this. the fashion industrie has kicked up their game inspiring all people to embrace their culture and other cultures around them. LOVE LOVE LOVE

plastic/ rubber material

i saw this plastic or rubberie type look in several rain, parka, windbreaker, and anorak jackets that walked the runway this year. it's a very barbie look but i'm totallie digging it for the spring time especially when it's raining out.

fringe

i've always had a thing for fringe and i was way too excited when i saw this trend was a thing for spring 2018. fringe is so fun to play around with and adds so much texture to an outfit, some of my favorite looks with this trend were by Calvin Klein, Rachel Comey, and Tracy Reese. fringe pieces are a fantastic way to spice up any outfit.

Japonica

this trend is a step again into something cultural which i love. Gucci and other designers use the japonica trend to highlight the prints and fabrics and structure of the Japanese culture. Using silks, mandarin collars, and kimono styles, this trend is readie to rock our world.

Few other trends to watch for:

  • feathers

  • transparent rain coat + bags

  • asemetric necklines

  • square necklines

  • fanny packs

  • shades of pink

  • straw hats
